Battery Manufacturing Equipment
Battery Production Mixers
B&P Littleford supplies a full range of battery production mixers, blenders, dryers, and dispersion battery manufacturing equipment for the battery production industry. Our battery production mixers are used in development and battery manufacturing facilities for efficient and accurate batching of pastes, gels, slurries, solutions and powders used in various battery types and chemistries. We work closely with every customer to match their processing objectives with the best mixing strategy. With our line of products from batch to continuous, we can supply the right type of equipment to meet your needs.
B&P Littleford history goes back to the lead acid battery use of the double arm mixer. Batteries today are changing and new advances - as well as materials - are being used, which means new mixing processes and battery manufacturing equipment need to be employed. We can help with innovative technologies for the preparation of the following:
- Lithium Battery Compounds
- Nickel-metal Hydride Compounds
- Zinc-Carbon Battery Compounds
- Battery Electrodes
- Emerging Battery Compounds

What is the process for manufacturing a battery?
The first stage in battery manufacturing is the fabrication of positive and negative electrodes. The main processes involved are: mixing, coating, calendering, slitting, electrode making (including die cutting and tab welding).
In a battery electrode slurry the mixture of heavy solid particles in suspension along with the need for extensive processing and thin coating layers requires a specific rheological profile. Viscosity and shear thinning properties help with mixing, yield stress and zero-shear viscosity aid with stability.
Providing you the product you need
Recognizing the battery manufaturing industry's need for improved mixing technology, B&P Littleford has achieved what could have been considered impossible with Continuous Kneaders and Twin Screws.
TriVolution Compounder
Our recirpocating continuous kneader offers excellent dispersive and distributive mixing without damaging critical ingredients by its innovative mixing mechanism. Its controlled shear with enhanced material exposure is also well adapted for devolatilization and reactive processing.
The TriVolution® mixer also establishes the highest standard of performance in shear sensitive mixing applications while achieving the highest energy efficiency.
